Dr. Alaa Abdalla is a postdoctoral researcher in the Philosophy & Ethics group at Eindhoven University of Technology, in the Netherlands. She works at the intersection of philosophy and educational research. Her research interests include how STEM graduates see their role in society, intercultural competence, systemic epistemology, and designing effective formal and informal learning environments.
She has conducted and evaluated projects in various areas, including: usability testing for RedShift, a video game-based language learning start-up, and participatory action research for Blacksburg Refugee Partnership, a refugee resettlement NGO.
