Photo by Jakub Żerdzicki on UnsplashOn 27 January 2026, we hosted our internal ECPAI Research Day, bringing together colleagues from Philosophy & Ethics, along with collaborators and external guests, for an afternoon of exchange and collaboration. Designed as a space for sharing ongoing work, the day created an open and constructive environment in which we could test ideas, receive feedback, and identify common ground.
The program highlighted the breadth of research within our community. We moved from discussions on cognitive explainability and non-human intelligences to questions of creativity, education, responsibility, and health in relation to AI. This range not only showcased the diversity of our work, but also sparked valuable conversations across themes. The participation of several external researchers added further depth to these discussions and opened up promising directions for collaboration beyond our immediate network.
With strong attendance and lively participation throughout, the Research Day proved to be a clear success. It not only showcased our ongoing research, but also reinforced the value of coming together as a community to reflect, challenge, and collaborate—while also leaving room for the many informal moments that matter just as much, from coffee breaks to the closing borrel.
We are already looking forward to the next edition!
