The Department of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences at TU/e is hiring a Postdoctoral Researcher to work on the use of generative AI in higher education.

TU/e is seeking applications for two PhD positions that will be affiliated with the Eindhoven Center for the Philosophy of AI. One position is in Philosophy and Computer Science and the other is in philosophy and ethics of technology.

Emily Sullivan’s article ‘Understanding from Machine Learning Models’ received an honorable mention from the Editors of the The British Journal for the Philosophy of Science and the British Society for the Philosophy of Science committee as part of the 2022 Popper Prize.

ECPAI members working within the ESDiT project working group on the ‘Attention Economy’ are organizing an online seminar-series on “Attending as practice in the attention economy”. The online series aims to contribute, using philosophy and ethics, to constructively critique the attention economy, a tech industry business model that treats human attention as a commodifiable resource.

Tarek Besold, head of strategic AI at Dekra Digital, is the first visiting fellow of the ECPAI. Tarek works on the development and certificiation of Explainable Artificial Intelligence, and is well-connected in the German and international AI scenes.
